Abstract

There are vast mobile technologies to connect individual consumers with a means to monitor weight loss and fitness goals. However, little is available that connects the Registered Dietitian (as a medical nutrition therapy provider) to the client to assist with achieving health goals. Well-Me-Health is proposed to link a client with their RD beyond a weekly office visit. The technology is in sync with its parent software that follows the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics recommended ADIME (Assessment, Diagnosis, Intervention, Monitoring, & Evaluation) system for patient care. The program will be designed to assess and reassess the patients stage of readiness (based on the transtheoretical model of health behavior) and tailor health and -goal related messages accordingly. Dietary information, application usage, and other information may be shared with the parent software and thus, accessible to the health care provider (in this case, the RD).
